Philosophy
My philosophy on math has defiantly changed over the course of this semester. As an elementary teacher in my classroom I plan on letting my students know how important math is and making sure there is a strong focus on it inside my classroom and not just teaching to the test. Throughout this semester I have learned how important technology and manipulatives are to math. Also it is important to take advantage of integrate other subjects into your math lessons. I think by showing students how much they use math in their everyday life it will help them want to learn more about math. Math is closely related to a lot of things we do in our life everyday. You use math when you tell time, count money, read the scale, look at the thermostat, and so much more.
